Terms and conditions of using english language services

Please read these terms and conditions prior to sending a fee to Emily's English Language Services. Upon receipt of a fee, we will take this to be acceptance of the statements below. 

All client information and materials are considered confidential and only for use by Emily's English Language Services (hereafter ELS) to communicate or complete a project. Client information and project materials will not be given out or shared with any third party, unless otherwise requested by the client or if necessary as a result of a legal process.  

ELS will ensure that all of the relevant tasks as stated in the details of services required are completed. Tasks are to be finished in accordance with the client. No more and no less than what is stated is to be completed. The time frame must be kept to. Update the client if required. If unable to complete the promised job, 100% refund will be given, along with any work that has been completed. 50% off the next booking will be provided. ELS will also not knowingly take on an editing job for a document which will be submitted to an educational institution. If the client does not inform ELS that that is the intention of the document, ELS will not be at fault.

You acknowledge that you shall be solely responsible for the materials and the validity of copyrights, trademarks and ownership brought forward by you. You agree to defend ELS and nullify any claims against ELS for any copyright and permission infringement resulting from the materials that you have provided.

ELS will complete the tasks as stated for each service within the Services page of this website. No more and no less will be completed, unless the file type renders a part unnecessary. Fact checking and reference checking will not be completed, and are not available on request.

The prices per service are as stated in the Services page. If returning to ELS, and only if you wish to use the service on a document for a second time (due to changes you have made), then a discount may apply. Details of this can be found in the FAQs. 

The word count of your document is the number from the original document, prior to any changes being made. When proofreading using Microsoft Word, Track Changes will be used. Two copies will be returned to you: one with the Track Changes feature enabled, complete with comment boxes and symbols, so that you can accept or deny any recommended changes. The second copy will be a "neat" copy with all changes made to the document. 

While ELS promises to provide the best possible service, ELS cannot guarantee that the written documents are 100% error-free. 

ELS is not liable for any kind of consequential damages, including loss of revenues, profits, or business, which could be in any way related to our services. ELS is not responsible for any claim or loss based on errors or any other mistakes which feature in our clients’ written documents, including any copyright infringement.  

Upon receipt of the fee for the accepted job, ELS will begin work. If the document has been received but the fee has not, the project will not commence. A confirmation email will be sent to the client once the fee has been received. A sales receipt can be provided on request.  

Both parties have the right to cancel this agreement at any time by providing written notice to the other party. If either party cancels a project up to 48 hours before work has started, the contract will be considered cancelled and ELS will return 100% of the fee. 

If the client cancels the job within 48 hours of starting, the client gives up 50% of the fee and 50% will be returned. 

If the client cancels the job once it has already started, the client gives up 100% of the fee and 0% will be returned. Any work completed up until this point will also be sent to the client. 

If ELS cancels the project at any point after the payment is complete, EES will give up 100% of the fee and any work completed. 

This contract is relevant to all parties and is the final say on all projects that are agreed upon between ELS and the client. 

Any changes to this contract are not accepted unless confirmed in writing and signed by all parties either in hardcopy or by e‐signature.

Any payment received is based on the assumption that you have read and agree to these terms and conditions. Thank you for reading them - Emily
